It's Officially 2017!!! 2016 is gone, over, and done with. It's a new year and 2017 has 365 new chances to make the year amazing. However, there are some things that can overshadow the greatness that this new year has to offer. Here are 5 things that you have to stop doing in order to make this yours and to own it.
How many times in 2016 did you make illegitimate excuses as to why you couldn't do something. If you're anything like me, excuses were almost a crutch that I used for waaayyyy to long. I depended on them more than I should have. I had an excuse as to why I couldn't eat right, lose weight, save money, and countless other things. Excuses cause more harm than good, and in all honesty they can cause us to become complacent, lazy, and uninspired. Excuses will always be around, but opportunities won't. So less excuses and more goal execution in 2017.
Being fearful is a natural human reaction when you are in actual danger. However, sometimes the things we fear are really mirages, that we have started to believe are reality. Maybe the perceived fear of rejection, embarrassment, and uncertainty caused you to back away from the aspirations, dreams, and goals you set last year. In 2017, don't let fear win! Feel the fear and do it anyway.
Complacency is a dangerous place to be. Sometimes people mistake contentment for complacency, when in reality they are on the opposite ends of the spectrum. Complacency breeds mediocrity, and the satisfaction with not doing enough. Complacency stops us from fulfilling our greatest potential and creating greatness. Complacency does not have any room in the space of opportunity that 2017 has to offer.
4. Dead-End Relationships
Whenever you see a dead-end sign it is telling you that beyond that point, there is nothing else. therefore you have to turn around and take a different route. So how come we allow dead-end relationships, associations, alliances, and etc to continue to lead us to nowhere. It's like seeing being a hamster running relentlessly on wheel that leads to nowhere. In 2017 I challenge you to cut off all dead-end relationships situations in your life that will not lead you towards a positive and productive path, because if you don't the results can be mentally, emotionally, and spiritual disastrous, leaving you empty, lost, and frustrated.
5. Counterproductive Habits
Bad Habits are hard to break. I know all too well because there are a few that I am working at breaking at the present time. If you developed a bad habit in 2016, or allowed one or some, lol to stay around too long, then 2017 is the year to cut them loose. Gather them up and throw them to the curb like yesterdays trash. They have to go in order to have a prosperous 2017.
I want to wish all of my B.L.E.S.D. Beauties a Happy New Year!! And I thank you for the support. I pray that it is one of beautiful experiences, growth, positivity, and abundant blessings.
